This semester I worked for a company called LeapStarr Productions. LeapStarr is an event fabrication and design company. When a business wants to show off their brand at an event, they call us. We help them design their set-up, build it, and then set it up for them. This currently is a small company of about ten people, and it has only been around for a few years. Throughout the past few months working with them, I see how they are making moves to become more and more successful. We work with big brands including Dove, Tampax, Starbucks, Tide, Home Goods, and Ghirardelli, just to name a few.
While I’ve been here the biggest project that we worked on was for Mountain Dew. Moutain Dew sponsored the new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare video game. We helped create two game-like events for the midnight release Call of Duty. This included parachute-driven supply drops for fans, prizes, a game-like environment, and actors portraying army men. I helped a lot with this project and even created a video for social media that was sent out to all of our clients.
At LeapStarr I don’t feel like just an intern. I sit in on meetings, control the social media, do research for them, and a lot more. I know that they really value my presence, so much so that they asked me, and I decided to continue working there for the next semester. I am going to see how the next few months go because there will be a possible job opportunity for me when I am done with school, which is very exciting.
