This semester, I had the privilege of interning at a co-working space called Benjamin’s Desk. Located in Rittenhouse Square, it was the perfect place to dive into Philadelphia’s business culture. For those who don’t know, a co-working space provides a place for startup owners and established entrepreneurs alike to work in a collaborative environment. At Benjamin’s Desk, I primarily handled communication within the community as well as gave tours and provided information to potential members. On top of that, I was actively involved with Startup Grind, a monthly event sponsored by Google which focuses on educating, inspiring, and connecting local entrepreneurs.
I think my proudest accomplishment was putting my CEO in touch with Arcadia’s Dean of Global Business, thereby sowing the seeds for a potential partnership between the co-working space and the university. The lessons I’ve learned about entrepreneurship and the importance of taking initiative will stay with me throughout my life.
